Spring 2026 Orientation Sessions

First-Year and Transfer In-Person Orientation

Spring In-Person Orientation is an optional partial-day program for first-year and transfer students. This in-person orientation introduces students to campus facilities and resources and provides the opportunity to connect with peers.

Parents/family members are welcome to attend orientation with you. You can include parents/family members on your orientation reservation.

Orientation is free for students. A $15 fee applies for each guest.

Spring In-Person Orientation sessions for the current academic year have closed. Spring orientation dates for the next academic year will be announced in August.

International In-Person Orientation

Spring International In-Person Orientation is required for first-year and transfer international students.

This in-person orientation gives you the opportunity to connect with students from around the world and participate in small-group activities that promote academic success, cultural exchange and well-being. You’ll also tour campus buildings, practice English conversation (if you’re not a native speaker) and complete essential steps for attending Nebraska.

Helpful Tips for In-Person Orientation

  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothes because you'll be walking around campus for part of the day.
  • Check the weather forecast. Plan for indoor and outdoor activities and dress accordingly.
  • Plan out your travel and parking plans ahead of time.
  • No need to bring a bag—we'll provide you with a free drawstring bag at check-in.
  • Submit your NCard application (used for campus-wide student identification, authentication and access) in advance and bring a government-issued ID (typically a driver's license) to pick up your card.
  • Review the University Health Centers Power of Attorney (POA) information and bring the POA form (if applicable). Notaries will be available at the end of orientation.

Parking Information

Free parking is available for Spring In-Person Orientation in city parking garages near campus. The Larsen Building garage at 14th and Q streets is closest to the Nebraska Union, where orientation takes place. You’ll receive a parking validation ticket at check-in to cover your parking costs when you exit the garage.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available on the southwest side of the Nebraska Union for vehicles with state-issued handicap permits.
