The Parent and Family Online Orientation includes information about paying for college, academic success, next steps and more. Parents/family members are also welcome to attend In-Person Orientation with their student.
Completing Parent and Family Online Orientation
Parents and family members of first-year and transfer students who have paid or deferred the enrollment deposit will receive an email when Online Orientation access opens for their student’s start term. The email is sent to the address listed on the student’s admission application.
Online Orientation includes four modules completed through Canvas, the university’s learning management system. This orientation is public and does not require you to log in. The content is available on demand and can be completed at any time.
Completing all four modules in one sitting takes about 1.5 hours, but you can log out and return as needed. To find specific topics, use the “Modules” tab in the course navigation. While the platform works on smartphones and other devices, a computer provides the best experience.
Parent and Family Online Orientation for the Fall term starts will open June, 1, 2026.
Attending In-Person Orientation
Parents and family members are welcome to attend In-Person Orientation with their student.
In-Person Orientation is free for students. There is a $15 fee for each parent/guest in attendance.
Students and parents/guests spend much of the day together during orientation. For more information, including a schedule of the day, visit the In-Person Orientation page for your student’s starting term.
