Set up Two-Factor Authentication (Duo) to access your university accounts. After you're enrolled in courses, the next time you log in to MyRED, Canvas, or your Huskers email, you'll be prompted to protect your accounts.

Find your MyUNL username in your email inbox after you complete Online Orientation. You can also find your username through TrueYou. Your MyUNL username is different than MyRED; this will be used to access Canvas, your Huskers email, the parking portal, wireless internet and other password-protected systems.

Log in to your Huskers email after you’ve enrolled in classes. You’ll use your MyUNL account ID plus @huskers.unl.edu to log in (example: hhusker2@huskers.unl.edu).

Update your contact info in the MyRED Profile tab. Designate your phone number and email address as primary—not your parent or family emails.

Familiarize yourself with MyRED for course registration, billing statements, scholarships and financial aid, degree audits and other important university information.

Review the Student Accounts Guide, which includes details about payment plans, bills and direct deposit. Set up your direct deposit before the first bill is due.

Download the Nebraska App. This contains maps, your class schedule, events on or around campus, news, campus notifications and more. Go to the app store on your mobile device and search “Nebraska.”

Complete the Year One College Behavior Profile (Y1CBP), an online alcohol and drug education program. The program takes about 15-20 minutes to complete and includes information about campus and community laws and policies along with resources available to students.

Complete the required online sexual misconduct prevention and response program. Once you’re enrolled in classes, the training will be available within the Bridge site. Log in with your UNL credentials, and it will appear on the home screen.

Watch your Huskers email for your assigned, in-person Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence (SARV) prevention workshop.
