The mission of New Student Enrollment is to provide comprehensive new student programs. These programs will assist all new students in their transition to the institution, expose new students to the educational opportunities within UNL, orient new students into the academic and co-curricular life of the institution, assist parents of new students in their understanding of the UNL environment and services, and provide current students with leadership opportunities.

Working with college students has been Pat's passion for the past 37 years. For 25 years, he has been the Director of New Student Enrollment at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Pat received his Masters of Science in Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with his academic work focusing on why students stay in college and promoting student engagement. In 2008, Pat was named the Outstanding Orientation Professional in the United States by the National Orientation Directors Association.
Jenni is originally from DeWitt, Iowa. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa where she was a double major in Communication Studies and Health and Sports Studies. She then received her master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Prior to becoming the Assistant Director in New Student Enrollment she served as an academic advisor in the College of Arts & Sciences at UNL for five years.
International Orientation Coordinator
Teresa is from Malcolm, NE, and has a bachelor's degree in Spanish and journalism and a Master's in Higher Education Administration from UNL. Teresa manages pre-arrival support, airport welcome, orientation, and social programs for international undergraduates. Before joining NSE's staff, Teresa taught math, natural sciences, English, and social studies in English in the bilingual section of a public middle/high school in Extremadura, Spain. Teresa's professional interests lie in international program development and cultural competence research.
International Student Engagement Coordinator
Rachel grew up in Williamsburg, Iowa. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Central College in Pella, IA, and continued on to obtain a Master of Science in College Student Affairs from Eastern Illinois University. It was during these educational experiences in which Rachel discovered her personal and professional commitment to international education, engagement, and student retention, which continues to strengthen in her role at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Julia De La Rosa
Originally from Waco, Texas, Julia DeLaRosa studied Secondary Spanish Education at UNL, graduating back in May of 2015. Upon graduation, she taught English with a Fulbright grant at the Federal University of Sao Joao del-Rei in Minas Gerais, Brazil, where she deepened her interest in working with college students of international backgrounds. She is currently undergoing coursework for a Master’s in Educational Administration (Student Affairs) with hopes of continuing work with international programming upon graduation.
International Program Assistant
Jenny Fam is a senior studying Biochemistry with minors in Chemistry and Mathematics, from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Jenny was a teaching assistant for an interpersonal Skills course before she joined NSE as an orientation leader. Now, Jenny works for the International Programs at NSE as a student staff. Jenny is involved in National Leadership and Success Honor Society, a Global Laurette Scholar, and the Vice President of Cultural Ambassadors.
Taylor Lofdahl is a senior studying Agricultural Education-Leadership with a minor in Spanish from Omaha, Nebraska. Taylor served as an orientation leader in 2016, and now, she is beginning her second year on the student staff team. Taylor is involved with the Nebraska Human Resources Institute, Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, the Innocents Society, Lincoln Literacy tutoring, and she is a William H. Thompson Scholar.
Will is a junior International Business major with a minor in Leadership from Minnetonka, Minnesota. This is Will's second year working with NSE, first serving as an Orientation Leader last summer and now as a member of Student Staff. On campus, Will is involved in Nebraska Human Resources Institute, Navigators Campus Ministry, and Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. On a normal day, Will can often be found drinking coffee, riding his bike to East Campus, and listening to podcasts.
Conner is a senior from Ainsworth, Nebraska, with majors in political science and Spanish and minors in English, communication studies, and leadership and communication. On campus, he has been involved with the Honors Program, Dance Marathon, the Nebraska Human Resources Institute, and the Innocents Society—Chancellor's Senior Honorary. In the Lincoln community, Conner has volunteered as an ELL tutor with Lincoln Literacy, worked as a page for the Nebraska Legislature, and interned with a lobbying firm and two local nonprofits.
Big Red Welcome/Take a Parent to Lunch Coordinator
Becky is a junior biochemistry major with minors in mathematics, chemistry, and psychology from Waco, Texas. This is Becky's second year with NSE having been an orientation leader and now serving on student staff. On campus, Becky is involved in Gamma Phi Beta and is a chemistry lab teaching assistant.
Course Allocator/Mail-in Coordinator
Cal is a junior Psychology major from Omaha, Nebraska. He is also a Humanities in Medicine minor and plans to attend medical school upon graduation. This is Cal's first year as a member of NSE Student Staff having spent last year as an Orientation Leader. Other than NSE, Cal is actively involved on campus as an Explore Center Pre-Health Peer Mentor and a member of the Honors Program. He is also a member of Pitch, Please!, a co-ed a cappella group on campus, and is a Leadership Team member of Big Red Singers, the University of Nebraska's on-campus show choir.
Eastin is a senior Economics major with minors in Mathematics and Psychology from Lincoln, Nebraska. This is Eastin’s third year with NSE having been both and Orientation Leader and Student Staff. On campus, Eastin is involved in the Nebraska Business Honors Academy, Launch Leadership, Dance Marathon, Pi Kappa Alpha, and is the president of the Omicron Delta Kappa honor society at Nebraska.
Joseline is a senior majoring in Criminology & Criminal Justice with minors in Spanish & Ethnic Studies from Grand Island, Nebraska. Joseline started working for NSE as an Orientation Leader in 2017, she now works as a Resolutions Specialist in the NSE office. On campus Joseline is the vice-president for her multicultural sorority, Lambda Theta Nu. She is also involved in the Mexican American Student Association, Nebraska College Preparatory Academy and the Define American Chapter. She is also a mentor for the First Husker Program through the UNL’s First Year Experience and Transition program.
Griffin Mims is a junior Communications Major with Minors in Global Studies and Leadership from Kearney, NE. It is Griffin’s second year working with NSE, being an Orientation Leader during the summer of 2017 before moving to his current staff position. On campus, Griffin serves as the University Program Council’s Marketing Chair, and is also an active member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.
Bridget is a senior studying French and Political Science with a minor in Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs from Lincoln, Nebraska. After serving as an orientation leader in 2017, she is now working for the New Student Enrollment office as a Resolutions Specialist. In addition, she works on campus at the Nebraska State Museum of Natural History. She is actively involved in leadership positions in her two choirs, Big Red Singers Show Choir and Pitch, Please A Cappella.
