Our Mission
The mission of New Student Enrollment is to provide comprehensive new student programs. These programs will assist all new students in their transition to the institution, expose new students to the educational opportunities within UNL, orient new students into the academic and co-curricular life of the institution, assist parents of new students in their understanding of the UNL environment and services, and provide current students with leadership opportunities.
Jennifer Brost
Director
Jenni is originally from DeWitt, Iowa. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa where she was a double major in communication studies and health and sports studies. She then received her master's degree in educational administration from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Prior to becoming the director in New Student Enrollment she served as an academic advisor in the College of Arts & Sciences at Nebraska for five years.
Teresa Lostroh
Senior Associate Director
Teresa is from Malcolm, NE, and has a bachelor's degree in Spanish and journalism and a master's in higher education administration from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. She's been with NSE since 2014. Teresa manages course enrollment for domestic and international students and plays a large role in the development of the orientation schedule and content for all new undergraduates. Previously, Teresa oversaw pre-arrival support, airport welcome, orientation and social programs for international undergraduates. Before joining NSE's staff, Teresa taught math, natural sciences, English and social studies in English in the bilingual section of a public middle/high school in Extremadura, Spain.
Emily Klesner Platt
Assistant Director
Emily grew up in Tyro, Kansas. She received her bachelor's degree in hospitality management from Kansas State University and completed her master's in college student personnel administration at Illinois State University. Joining the team in 2020, Emily works with special populations at NSE including transfers, international students and parents and families. As a former transfer student, Emily is passionate about helping each student find their place at Nebraska.
Megan Monzon
Assistant Director
Megan is from Omaha, NE. She has a bachelor’s degree in communication arts and a master’s degree in organizational management from Chadron State College. She joined the NSE team in 2023. Megan manages operations in the NSE office, including reservation systems, daily logistics and the resolutions team.
Allie Woolworth
Orientation Coordinator
Allie grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska. She received her bachelor's degree in community health and wellness from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed her master's in higher education and student affairs from The Ohio State University. Allie joined the team in 2022, where she works as the training and development coordinator. As a former orientation leader she enjoys working with students and the opportunity to walk with them as they develop throughout their collegiate experience.
Rachel Morros
Events Assistant
Rachel Morros is a senior studying elementary education from Mission Viejo, California. This is her third year with New Student Enrollment. She previously was an orientation leader during the summer of 2022 and a support specialist during the summer of 2023. She is involved in Dance Marathon, as the secretary of Hillel Student Association, as the president of Kappa Delta Sorority and is a tutor for Husker Athletics.
Loui Mercadante
Spanish Language Specialist
Loui is a junior studying meteorology & climatology and Spanish from Georgetown, Texas. This is his second year with New Student Enrollment. He was previously an orientation leader during the summer of 2023. In this role, Loui will facilitate our Spanish program concurrent to our summer orientation program.
Sophi Throener Rodriguez
Enrollment Assistant
Sophi is a junior studying history and Spanish from Lincoln, NE. This is Sophi's second year with New Student Enrollment. She previously served as an orientation leader during the summer of 2023. She is involved in Kappa Delta Chi and the University Conduct Board.
Teish Ngoi
Resolutions Specialist
Teish is a junior studying theatre from Toronto, Canada. Teish is in her second year with New Student Enrollment, where she was an orientation leader during the summer of 2023. Teish is involved in the Husker Athletics Hospitality Fund and is a resident assistant.
Isela Tercero
Resolutions Specialist
Isela is a junior studying agricultural education and applied science from Broken Bow, NE. This is Isela’s second year with New Student Enrollment. Isela was an orientation leader during the summer of 2023. She is involved in Future Teachers of Color and Teacher Scholars Academy.
Annie von Kampen
Resolutions Specialist
Annie is a junior studying music education from North Platte, NE. Annie is in her second year with New Student Enrollment. She was an orientation leader over the summer of 2023. Annie is involved in the Cornhusker Marching Band and the Honors Program.
Maddie Ames
Support Specialist
Maddie is a junior studying advertising & public relations and journalism from Lincoln, NE. This is her second year with New Student Enrollment, where she was an orientation leader during the summer of 2023. Maddie is involved in the Daily Nebraskan and the University Program Council.
Dylan Anderson
Support Specialist
Dylan is a senior studying business management from Omaha, NE. This is Dylan’s second year with New Student Enrollment. He previously served as an orientation leader during the summer of 2023. Dylan is involved in Bathtub Dogs a cappella group and is a Clifton Strengths coach.
Cristina Villa
Support Specialist
Cristina is a senior studying secondary English education from Lincoln, NE. This is Cristina’s second year with New Student Enrollment. She previously served as an orientation leader during the summer of 2023. Cristina is involved in ASUN Student Government and Swim Club.
Delaney Wetjen
Support Specialist
Delaney is a senior studying human development & family science from Omaha, NE. She is in her second year of working with New Student Enrollment, where she was previously an orientation leader during the summer of 2023. Delaney is involved as the president of Pitch Please a cappella group.
