Big Red Welcome Street Festival Booth Registration

Please complete and submit the following form to register your business, department or organization for the 2020 Street Festival. Please read all of the following information as well as the Street Festival Safety and Sanitation Guidelines before completing your registration.

The Street Festival will be held on Sunday, August 16th from 6:30–8:30 PM in the Memorial Stadium Loop, 14th Street Pedestrian Mall, and Meier Commons/Union Plaza (green space north of the Nebraska Union).

COVID-19 clause

In light of evolving COVID-19 guidelines and best practices for ensuring our community's safety and well-being, New Student Enrollment has implemented a number of adaptations to the Street Festival for 2020.

  • Booth spaces will be spread out further across a wider surface area of City Campus, including the Memorial Stadium Loop, 14th Street Pedestrian Mall, and Meier Commons/Union Plaza
  • Number of vendors per booth space will be limited to a maximum of 2 individuals
  • Vendor registration will be limited to businesses, non-profits, and UNL departments in an effort to de-densify the event
    • To our valued Recognized Student Organizations: we've made the difficult decision to limit vendor registration in an effort to safely de-densify the Street Festival and direct RSO tabling opportunities to the Club Fair on Wednesday, August 26 from 11:15 AM – 1:15 PM. This rearrangement allows for social-distancing efforts to be better implemented at both events. RSOs are strongly encouraged to register and host a booth at the Club Fair to engage with first-year students.
  • All event attendees will be required to wear masks throughout the duration of the event
  • Food distribution will not be permitted at the event, including pre-packaged goods and items served by those on the university's Approved Vendors list
  • Participating vendors must adhere to additional Street Festival Guidelines for Safety and Sanitation

We continue to monitor and abide by health and safety best practices as outlined by the university and local government partners. You will be notified if any changes are made to the Street Festival plans. Full refunds will be issued in the case that the Street Festival is cancelled due to COVID-19.

Booth space is available in 12'×15' sections, and you may purchase up to 2 sections. We will furnish one 8'×30" table each booth purchase; however, we WILL NOT provide dividers, backdrops or table coverings. Chairs will be extremely limited upon special requests from vendors with extenuating circumstances.

The cost is as follows:

  • $220/booth space for businesses
  • $45/booth space for university departments and non-profits

Since the Street Festival will be held outside, there will be limited electrical hookups available. If you are requesting electricity, there will be an additional $25 fee.

The deadline to register is Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Registrations received after this deadline will incur a $25 late fee. Please note, we cannot issue refunds if the Street Festival is cancelled due to weather.

Following submission of this form, you will receive a registration confirmation via email, which will include payment instructions.

Registration for a UNL department booth at the Big Red Welcome Street Festival is $45/booth and this amount will be charged to the department's cost object after the Festival.

The advertisement or promotion of alcohol consumption or drug use is prohibited. Anything in violation of University of Nebraska–Lincoln policy is inadmissible and will be subject to removal by Big Red Welcome Staff. All booths may only be occupied by one business/non-profit organization/UNL department/RSO. No other entity can share booth space. Any disruption to patrons or any other booths may be grounds for dismissal. Service animals are permitted. No other animals/pets allowed. Booth participation will be denied if the sponsoring organization is in conflict with existing university contracts (i.e. a Coca-Cola booth would be denied due to a university contract with Pepsi).

This Agreement is subject to the rules and regulations and statutes governing the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska. No use of alcohol or controlled substances by the CONTRACTOR or employees of the CONTRACTOR will be allowed during the EVENT or while the employees are present on the premises of University property. In the event of noncompliance on the part of the CONTRACTOR, legal sanctions may result. It is agreed by the CONTRACTOR that SPONSOR shall not be held liable for any breach of contract based on the provisions herein, if, by court action caused by the county board having jurisdiction, it is determined that this public gathering or EVENT as described by the terms of this Agreement, will adversely affect the public health or welfare, resulting in restraining and permanently enjoining this EVENT from taking place. The court action described above is pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. §23-382 (Reissue 1997), or as amended relating to public gatherings.

CONTRACTOR agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the University of Nebraska for all liabilities, losses, death of or injury to persons or destruction of property involving CONTRACTOR, its employees, agents and representatives, sustained in connection with CONTRACTOR activities specified within this agreement. This includes the University of Nebraska and its governing board, its officers, agents, representatives and employees.
