International Welcome Team

A scenic view of the Learning Commons building

The International Welcome Team helps new international undergraduates transition smoothly to the U.S., the city of Lincoln and the university.

Team members provide the peer support and local knowledge needed to make new undergraduate students feel at home as a Husker from the moment they arrive at Nebraska. The team greets and assists new international students at the Lincoln airport, staffs residence hall welcome desks and leads activities during International In-Person Orientation and International Welcome Week.

The International Welcome Team and orientation leader roles and responsibilities differ. While the International Welcome Team assists with the International Airport Welcome and In-Person Orientation for new international students, orientation leaders assist with orientation for incoming domestic students throughout the summer.
