Short term loans
This program is intended for students who need funds to meet emergency educational expenses. A student's need to borrow up to $500 is considered appropriate for this loan program. http://www.unl.edu/scholfa/short_term_loans.shtml

Student ID/Debit Card
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has an exclusive partnership with Wells Fargo Bank to offer our students a checking account that when linked to the ID card allows the card to also be used as an ATM and debit card. This option provides free on-line banking, free on-line bill pay and easy access to Wells Fargo ATMs on and off campus.
If you download and complete the application in advance the application can be handed in at check-in which will make the process simpler and quicker at New Student Enrollment.
Billing
Consolidated Student Statements are generated by the 25th of each month and are available for
immediate viewing via the WAM (What About Me) page. Students will be notified by e-mail when a
bill is available for them to view each month. Students can forward the e-mail on to their parents
and can give parents access to view the bill on WAMS (What about my Student).
The WAM web site is: http://wam.unl.edu.
The bill for fall semester tuition and fees will be generated in August/January and due the second
Wednesday of September/February. All other charges are due the second Wednesday of the month following
their appearance on the bill which could begin immediately. An estimated fall bill will be available on
WAM by the end of July. This will show an estimation of tuition, fees and financial aid based on the
number of hours the student is registered for fall.
Refunds will be directly deposited if a student provides their bank account information in the "MY BILL"
section of WAM. Otherwise refund checks are mailed to the student's local address during the academic
year. A credit balance can result from scholarships, overpayments, or financial aid distribution.
Generally, refunds will be issued about 14 days after your account is credited. Students can be issued a
refund and later receive charges for books, fees, housing and other educational expenses.
We recommend that families discuss in advance that refunds should be set aside for further
educational expenses if other charges will be made.
Student Accounts website has information about the billing process and payment options.
