Parent/Guardian Information

New Student Enrollment is your first glimpse into the academic resources and services available to students.

We believe that parents and family members provide a crucial support system for the new experiences of their student. Understanding and adjusting to these changes is an exciting challenge for both students and parents.

You have questions...

We encourage you to share in your student's discovery of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

As a parent or guardian of a new student, you play a vital role in your student's transition into the University of Nebraska–Lincoln by helping them be aware of the programs in place to help them succeed.

A Family's Perspective

You will be able to attend a concurrent orientation program designed to educate you about University life. You will find out how we can be your partner in supporting your student as he/she transitions to college. Students and faculty will be available to answer questions you have regarding the process of enrollment or about the university environment.

You’ll get to learn the procedures, resources, and traditions of the institution. You will also be able to interact with other parents and family members of new students. Finally, you can sign up for the Parent Newsletter following NSE.

NOTE: Only students will be participating in the advising and registration aspects of the New Student Enrollment program.
